CUTE AGGRESSION

I’m deeply influenced by East Asian cute culture due to my love of manga and anime. Curiously, as I pursue these passions, I feel not just pure joy and excitement but anger, exhaustion, confusion... the cute seems coupled with a certain inability to complete its own project. In some moments it feels like a tug of war, between elation and the feeling of falling down. However, giving up never came to my mind. I ride these conflicting emotions and wonder what lies behind this almost pathological obsession.
